Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)

What is the Simultaneous Membership Program?

Simultaneous” means students who are at the same time:

  • Full-time college students (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or grad students)
  • Currently serving (or willing to enlist) in the USAR or ARNG
  • Enrolled in Army ROTC

The SMP program allows soldiers of the Utah National Guard (UTNG) or the Army Reserves (USAR) to participate in the Advanced ROTC program at the same time. It is a powerful training program that has many benefits and allows the cadet to decide if they wish to compete for active duty or Commission into the ARNG/USAR.
